About Us

Founded by software professionals in 2014, the Academy of Code’s mission is to provide a missing link in the education of primary and secondary school children in Ireland. Currently based in Dublin, and providing classes in multiple locations and to over 900 students every week across the county and commuter belt, we have only just begun our mission to transform IT education across the country!

Robert Boylan

Having worked for the Academy of Code throughout his time studying computer and electronic engineering in Trinity College, Dublin, Robert took a short “tour of duty” in industry, working as a software test developer on sleep sensor devices with ResMed Sensor Technologies.

Back with the Academy of Code full time since January 2018, Robert takes charge of tutoring our most technically advanced students, and was responsible for developing a large portion of the new advanced curriculum (grades 7-9). This work has included introducing topics including Python, Computer Vision, source control and more.

Eoin has hit the ground running, and not only contributed significantly to the on-going re-design of our curriculum but also taken the first steps on many exciting new initiatives which will be making landfall in 2019!

Damien Fegan

Damien first joined the team as a part-timer in September 2017. With his wealth of experience from a decade as a primary school teacher, Damien’s perspective has already significantly shaped many elements of the Academy of Code, and we were delighted to welcome him into a full time role in August 2018.

Damien also has a flair for music and design, and has brought both to bear in his short time with us to-date, rolling out the first of many music technology lessons and completely re-designing our class handouts.

A part-time tutor since the very first summer program in 2014, Daire now holds a masters in computer and electronic engineering, and joins the team on a full time basis from August 2019.
