The ideal tutor enjoys working with students of all ages, from 8 to 18.

We have opportunities for enthusiastic new staff to join our team for mid-week evening, and Saturday morning, online coding classes.

Tutors at the Olus Academy of Code work with our students in a virtual classroom setting, guiding them both as groups and 1:1 as they progress through their programming journey. We use a variety of languages including the Java-based Processing language, HTML, JavaScript, Python and more. (Tutors are expected to have a solid understanding of at least one relevant programming language, and the interest and drive to up-skill where required).

Our tutors must be enthusiastic, patient & confident in leading classes.

The ideal candidate must be currently an undergraduate, flexible, enthusiastic and patient, comfortable working with students of all ages (8-18) and personalities. Excellent communication skills are required and the candidate must have the confidence to lead a class and deal directly with parents’ questions and any other issues that arise.

Some programming experience is vital, while any teaching or childcare experience is a bonus. Candidates working towards technical degrees (e.g. computer science/engineering) are strongly preferred.

We are committed to investing in our staff – successful candidates will benefit from dedicated training days, as well as the opportunity to work with and learn from our senior staff. We are also committed to providing staff with the opportunity to grow in their roles. New staff will start in teaching assistant positions and will have plenty of opportunities to progress leading their own classes and contributing to curriculum development.

Our tutors also teach coding in online classes to students across Ireland and overseas.

Probation pay is €10.50/hour, rising to €13/hour for those who successfully complete the probation period. Staff who progress with the company are eligible for performance and knowledge-based pay increases, with rates of €25+/hour available for top performing staff with 2+ years’ experience.
